ITINERARY

DAY 1 (June 16, 2002):   Meet in Kathmandu
DAY 2:    In Kathmandu
DAY 3:    Leave by air for Lhasa from Kathmandu
DAY 4:    Stay at LHASA
DAY 5:    Stay at LHASA
DAY 6:    Stay at SIGASTE 
(Seat of PANCHEN LAMA)
DAY 7:    Stay at SAGA
DAY 8:    Stay at PARYANG
DAY 9:    Arrive and stay at MANSAROVAR
DAY 10:   Stay at MANSAROVAR
DAY 11:   Opening ceremony of hospital & ashram
DAY 12:   Start parikrama of Mt. Kailash
DAY 13:   Continue parikrama
DAY 14:   Return in afternoon to Mansarovar
DAY 15:   Leave Mansarovar; stay at PARYANG
DAY 16:   Stay at SAGA
DAY 17:   Stay at NYLEM
DAY 18:  Return to Kathmandu by evening

OPTIONS AND ALTERNATIVES

There are several options for people who are short of time or who are not in the physical condition to undertake the parikrama:

Option 1:	Yatris can meet up with the yatra June 18 or 19 in Lhasa, instead of reaching Kathmandu on the 16th.
Option 2:	Yatris can depart from Mansarovar on June 27, if they do not want to undertake the parikrama.
Option 3:	Yatris can also opt to fly from Mansarovar back to Kathmandu by small plane or helicopter. It is not advisable to fly INTO Mansarovar as proper acclimatization must be done on the way. Therefore, yatris could leave Mansarovar on the 27th by plane and reach Kathmandu (or Lhasa) on the same evening if they are short of time.
