PT Usha, the Chairperson of the Indian Olympic Association and a nominated member of the Rajya Sabha, the Queen of Indian Track and Field, visited Parmarth Niketan along with her family. The Acharyas, Sevaks and Rishikumars welcomed her with a shower of flowers and the sound of conch shells.

Since 1979, PT Usha has exhibited her passion, dedication, and extraordinary talent in sports before the entire world. Her unparalleled sporting abilities have made India proud. The Acharyas and Rishikumars of Parmarth Gurukul congratulated her as the “Udan Pari” PT Usha. On this occasion, PT Usha, along with her husband V Shrinivasan, her family Ramakrishnan, Pushpa, Sunaina, and others, meditated in Pujya Swamiji’s kutiya experiencing the divine and spiritual energies. PT Usha also performed the Ganga Pujan and Abhishek on the holy banks of Maa Ganga.

Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati ji, the President of Parmarth Niketan from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, conveyed a message praising PT Usha. He said that PT Usha, the daughter of India, has shown that Indian women can achieve great heights and touch the skies with their dreams. He added, “Indian women don’t just dream; they have the capacity to make their dreams a reality. PT Usha demonstrated that with passion, determination, and dedication, everything is achievable.”

Pujya Swami Ji emphasized the need to provide proper security and education to girls, stating that in today’s era, girls need resources, education and empowerment and not just security. They are talented and courageous, but the bitter truth remains that in many places, they do not have access to education and resources that boys do.

He shared that, “Creating a safe and respectful environment for girls depends on society’s mindset. As a society we must stop the objectification of women and girls and encourage them to get an education, pursue their dreams and empower them to strive to be independent and self-sufficient members of our society. Their voices, their talents and their skills must be respected, acknowledged and celebrated. We all have a very important role to play in creating such a society for all women and girls.

PT Usha’s hard work, dedication, and abilities have not only brought glory to the nation but have also set an example for Indian girls. She has earned numerous accolades for India on the global stage. She is an inspiration to youth and young women to strive for excellence.”

As an Indian woman, PT Usha is currently involved in the noble task of nurturing Indian athletes through her “Usha Academy,” which is a matter of great pride.

PT Usha appreciated the global efforts of Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji in environmental and humanitarian service at Parmarth Niketan, stating that it is a remarkable combination of spirituality and service.

She shared how happy she was to come to Rishikesh and how refreshed, energised, renewed and recharged she felt to go back and be of greater service to the nation.

आसमान को छू सकती है। भारत की बेटियाँ केवल सपने देखती ही नहीं बल्कि उसे पूरा भी करती है। पीटी उषा ने दिखा दिया कि अगर हमारे अन्दर जज्बा, जुनून और लगन हो तो सब कुछ हसिल किया जा सकता है।
स्वामी जी ने संदेश दिया कि पीटी उषा ने पूरे भारतवर्ष को गौरवान्वित किया है इसलिये बेटियों की कल्पना, कल्पना न रह जायें, उनका सपना, सपना न रह जायें बल्कि वे जीवन की हर ऊँचाई को वह छू सके इसलिये उन्हें उचित सुरक्षा और शिक्षा देना जरूरी है। आज के युग में बेटियों को ’’संरक्षण नहीं, संसाधन चाहियें’’, सामान नहीं सम्मान चाहिये। वे प्रतिभाशाली और अद्म्य साहसी हैं परन्तु एक कटु सत्य यह भी है कि आज भी कई स्थानों पर बेटियों पर बेटों जैसा विश्वास, शिक्षा और सम्मान नहीं किया जाता। बेटियों को सुरक्षित व सम्मान युक्त वातावरण देना समाज की सोच पर निर्भर करता है। सोच बदलेगी तो ही बेटियों का संघर्ष, प्रतिभा और चुनौतियाँ दिखाई दंेगी। भारतीय महिलाओं की उपलब्धियों की सूची बहुत बड़ी है बस उस पर गौर करने की जरूरत है। हमारी बेटियाँ किसी से कमतर नहीं है बस उन पर विश्वास करने की आवश्यकता है।’

पीटी उषा ने अपनी मेहनत, लगन और काबिलियत के बल पर अनेक कीर्तिमान स्थापित कर न सिर्फ देश का मान बढ़ाया है बल्कि भारत की बेटियों के लिए भी एक मिसाल कायम की है। उन्होंने भारत को कई स्वर्णपदक दिलवाकर पूरे विश्व में भारत का मान बढ़ाया है।

भारत की बेटी पीटी उषा अपनी ‘उषा अकादमी’ द्वारा भारतीय एथेलेट्स निर्माण करने का कार्य कर रही हैं जो अत्यंत गौरव का विषय है।

पीटी उषा ने स्वामी चिदानन्द सरस्वती जी द्वारा वैश्विक स्तर पर किये जा रहे पर्यावरण और मानवता की सेवा कार्यों के की सराहना करते हुये कहा कि परमार्थ निकेतन में अध्यात्म और सेवा का अद्भुत संगम है।
