Swami Ji told that 45 years ago when he went to America, he met Dr. Kamal Verma and his family with great devotion and they became friends forever. Richard Verma was the youngest among his five children and, through their friendship, he became interested in Indian culture and literature and he has given the same values to his three children Lucy Verma, Zoe Verma and Dylan Verma. Dr. Kamal Verma was a renowned professor of English and he played an important role in editing the Hindu Dharma Encyclopedia.
Swamiji said that the life and work of Dr. Kamal Verma will always be remembered as a significant contribution to the study of Indian literature and culture. His work brought about a remarkable change not only in the literary world but also in the field of education and research.
Today morning’s Vishwa Shanti Yagna and a huge Bhandara were dedicated to him. The entire Verma family together performed special prayers and Ganga Aarti on the banks of Maa Ganga for the peace of his soul.
