The National Bharat Gaurav Awards (Pride of India Awards), organised by the Brave Hearts, were given out by HH Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji, Mananiya Indresh Kumarji, Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswatiji and other eminent dignitaries at the Vigyan Bhawan. The Awards were given to individuals and institutions for their excellence and service in the fields of business, healthcare, yoga, arts, academics, civil service and government service. The theme of the awards was the spirit of the nation.
Addressing the gathering, Pujya Swamiji said, “Our dynamic Prime Minister Narendra Modiji has given us the Make in India programme but today we are honouring those who are also making India into a strong and spirited nation. His closing line, especially, in Hindi got everyone so enthusiastic and energized, “Jisko Dil Se Karte Hai to Sach Maniye Delhi hi hahi puri Duniya Badalgati hai.” When we work together- as one family – with our hearts and our minds then not only Delhi but the whole world changes.”
Sadhvi Bhagawatiji said, “The spirit of India is not only our innovative science and technology but it’s our spirituality and culture, it’s our traditions and our values that drive this innovation and growth. Therefore, the true pride is our spiritual-cultural values which are rooted in giving, rather than getting, in serving others. When we live with this spirit then not only can we progress sustainably but we can also play our vital role in making a better world for all. In the west, we may have made great progress but the pursuit is always for more and more, for bigger and bigger, but in the Indian value system, it’s not about having more but being more, it’s not about getting bigger and bigger but being better and better.”
Mananiya Indreshji said, “Love your nation. Love your language. Love your country and love your community. When we serve from a space of love with an ever present smile on our face, as instruments of the Divine, then we become truly the wealthiest beings on this planet. Therefore, through your actions, words and thoughts work to build the nation into a strong and resilient one.”
