On the sacred occasion of Mahakumbh, Honorable Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, visited the Parmarth Niketan Camp at Arail, Prayagraj. He held a special meeting with Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji and received his blessings. During their discussion, they deliberated on topics such as peace, prosperity, and environmental conservation.

Shri Manohar Lal Khattar Ji was welcomed at the Parmarth Niketan Camp with flower showers, Vedic chants, and the sound of conches. Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji remarked, “Mahakumbh is not just a religious event but a grand cultural ritual that purifies our inner selves, fosters connections, and conveys messages of self-reliance, harmony, and national unity.”

Shri Khattar expressed, “It is a matter of pride for us to be present at this historic occasion of Mahakumbh. This event reminds us of our responsibilities toward religion, culture, and the environment. Mahakumbh symbolizes the unity, harmony, and goodwill of Indian society. Together, through mutual cooperation, we can guide our nation toward progress in every direction.”

Under the divine presence of Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji, Shri Khattar participated in the sacred Ganga Aarti at Arail Ghat. The chanting of mantras, the sound of conches, and the glow of lamps during the Aarti created a heavenly atmosphere. Swamiji eloquently highlighted the uniqueness of Indian culture and the Mahakumbh.

During his visit, Shri Khattar also toured the Parmarth Triveni Pushp Ashram and the eco-friendly, plastic-free Parmarth Niketan Camp. Swamiji shared that efforts have been made to minimize the use of plastic in the camp and encouraged everyone to raise awareness about climate change and pollution. Visitors to the Parmarth Niketan Camp are being provided cloth bags to discourage the use of single-use plastics during their pilgrimage and sacred bath at the Sangam.

Swamiji had an in-depth discussion with the Honorable Minister on creating a pollution-free Haryana and shared Parmarth Niketan’s efforts in converting stubble into plywood. Shri Khattar highlighted his government’s goal of making Haryana pollution-free and protecting the environment, emphasizing that this is not just a governmental objective but a societal responsibility.

Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji – Muniji praised the remarkable steps being taken by the Government of India and state governments to protect the environment. He emphasized that the saints at Mahakumbh are focusing on spiritual growth as well as environmental preservation. He urged collective action to move toward a clean and green India.

Swamiji called for individuals to take small steps to reduce pollution, stating, “It is the responsibility of each person to change their habits and contribute to lowering pollution levels. Mahakumbh 2025 is not only a festival of faith but also a reminder of our duties, environmental responsibilities, and social unity.”
